Is Luke Varney really that bad?

I Have logged in this morning to see big rumours, links etc regarding Luke Varney possibly joining.

Well currently I am watching HH, Aggymang, and Leon Clarke. That is going to get us 10 goals tops a season.

SO Varney in the past has gone for 2.5 mil, then 1million in the championship. He has scored goals in the past.

So listen guys, I have totally resigned myself to the fact that we will sign Out of contract, free transfers. That is a given.
On that basis, Is Varney such a bad shout?

Id much rather Varney than Clarke or HH.

A couple of years back I think we would have loved to Sign Varney, when Charlton paid 2.5 mil for him, has he declined that much..really??

I actually like Varney. Puts himself about and runs his guts off. Not as bad as people are whinging about on here. Certainly better than Vine, Agyemang & Clarke.

Daz I seen him score quite a few good goals cutting in from the left on his right foot. Not making sheffield mate, gotta load to do at home and training Sunday morning for 1st time since last fight so gotta lay off heavy days and nights drinking!!

transfer fee's dont always mean we are signing quality.

Good to have a bit of perspective for once.
The sad thing is Rangers are know to be a wealthy Club, the Manager has intimated he is in the market for a few players and lo and behold, every time a player is linked witgh a move, the press tack our Club on the end of the list of those interested. The sad thing however is the amount of fans we have that take it seriously every time it happens.........c'mon, how many of the players that we have been linked with in this way actually ever come here?? Maybe, just maybe that is because a lot of Journos are just a little bit lazy when it comes to research .
