There's no number 4 in the current squad which was his number last season...and there's been no announcement from the club either. It seems odd after he had such a good season until his injury.

Yeah I seem to remember hearing that too. Hopefully theyre just waiting for him to get back to fitness so he can prove himself. It would make sense as I dont think he's had much of a pre-season.

He's on the PFA website of players looking for a club, so i presume he's been released. He could do a great job for a league 1 club looking for a leader. I reckon Charlton should have a look.
