I guess we will wait a while till we have another striker that scores a hat trick against Chelsea. Shame about that Milk Cup final (though not his fault). That era (with Byrne and Fereday running the wings) was a fine time to be an R.

Not really related, but the talk of the Forest games around then reminded me of Johnny Byrne's goal in the earlier round of the Milk Cup. A true blinder. Little teaser for those old enough to remember and have been at that......... who can recall what was odd about that game, or more precisely when it was played? No prizes apart from demonstrating true Rangers credentials!

I know it was reported but tbh I was never really sure it wasn't an urban myth type thing. True then was it. I used to hear it most often shouted at him (i.e. use your other leg you cant) whenever he's just missed connecting with the ball from what I will politely call certain wags (and not the pretty kind) in the loft or paddocks!
