Regardless of our individual circumstances, we are all supporters. Some are just more active than others, on either a permanent or intermittent basis.

Why look for a problem, where one does not exist?

Especially if they are not banging a drum and singing songs about northerners being inbred.
Good points. Does this mean that if you have an obstructed view then you can only have an opinion on that part of the pitch you can easily see?

Lol MYU - If my pet hamster that has one eye, deaf and no computer skills and no previous knowledge of QPR football club, had he logged onto this thread - he would have come to same conclusion. So - keep away from the TV times - you are not mystic meg.

This is petes board and is suppose that means he can almost write what he pleases and veto the same.People have issue's with pete on other sites and i suppose on this site. From my perspective - this issue is the only one that really concerns me.

I came across Pete on the old messagaeboard - and one of his "soap Box" topics - was - QPR fans...are they arent they should they etc.The only problem I have with QPR fans - or indeed any football fans, is when they reach a Cup Final - Play off etc....the average 10-15k swells into 30 K.

I remember the season when QPR reached the Playoff final V Cardiff. That season, despite being in the third tier of football, I was a season ticket holder and went to nearly ever home game that season. For one reason or another - i failed to get ticket for final.Yet - I knew of a handfull of QPR fans, that admitted to me - they handt been for 2-3 years - but got ticket just for that final.Indeed them there fans - and they are at every club...pisz me off.
If those fans attended more games throughout the season, then maybe the likes of Stockport etc....maybe they wouldnt have financial problems(I dont know how attendances affect the finances of a club - but it must help!!)

I have spoken to quite a few ardent fans of QPR and other clubs, who appear to share same view as me(Only the feedback i have heard) they dont put themselves on a pedestal just because they go to more matches - just privilaged(If you can call it that - ) that they can attend so many games.
The strange thing about fans - is how differently they can see the same match.I have seen reports from the same game that says that delaney was good crap indifferent...by 3 different fans.Does this mean that they have more knowledge than fans that cannot attend every game?

Recently - i met a guy from USA .Now have have followed...and become an official fans of Oakland raiders.Purchased merchandise over the internet - seen most games via Channle 4 5 internet dvds....study form watch Rota systems etc....but have not attended I game yet. However the Guy from USA - was amazed(he was also a Raiders fan)at how much i knew aboout club, history logistics of game etc.He certainly didnt put me down but in fact was pleased that people far and abroad were spreading the name of his beloved team.

I think we have to be careful about alienating fans near far and abroad - just because of where they sit, or geographical situated. Can they have input about club? Of course - the internet is now a powerfull tool.

Pete may say that this is not the reason for this post - but in my opinion it stirs up bad feelings.

However - you you argue its good spin as more people visit his site - and viewing figures are up.

The fans I speak to think this..

If you do not go to a game, how can you possibly say a player played badly?

If you do not go to a game, how can you possibly know how the manager tactically went about the game?

What you can do is get feedback from those that did go. IT does NOT make you any less of a fan or a supporter, because you cannot get to a game.

What do most fans do, that don't go to games? If they live here, they would tend to phone a friend who did go or go straiaght on the internet? If, I am wrong then I apologise.

This does not make you a supporter, in fact makes you a HARDCORE supporter just like the ones who spend loads of time on QPR messageboards, as you want to know what is going on and many spend most of their days on boards to find out the latest gossip.

I'm still lost on how you can give an opinion on a manager, players, a board member, if you have personally not observed a managers tactics, seen the players play etc etc.

Example someone says "Paulo Sousa great manager", is the person who has no idea of how the game was played following that persons opinion, or giving his own?

It has nothing to do with pedestals, as supporters come from across the globe!!

              Correct me if I'm wrong.

Pete, rather than all the usual childish bullying, harassment and bull_****, why not just post a sticky thread that says "I dont like QPR Report, we'll never see eye-to-eye, so we'll act like grown ups and agree to disagree"?

But then that would spoil all your "fun" wouldnt it?

                  I'm not taking the michael.

you do a sterling job of defending him. What that guy has done for the Club, is a miracle. Got us talking and arguing, that in itself is a great acheivement.

What harm does it actually do?

All opinions should be welcome as they promote debate. Surely the whole purpose of a message board is to proffer an opinion irrespective of whether that opinion is made from listening to commentary or watching the game live. It is up to the reader as to whether they place value to that opinion.

Does that make the hardcore supporter right? If three hardcore supporters have 3 different opinions on 1 players game or the managers tactics or the boards views.

To get information from a third party is like chinese whispers anyway.I have been to many home games and listened to " regular" fans and wonder if they have evry actualy played the game.Because some of thier comments are totally and unter crap.Sometimes - i dont listen to views from people who have gone to games.

I do agree you can form a better opinion of how people play - if you actually attend the game.Live TV is good - but you still get a better opinion from being at the ground.

PS was certainley not a great manager at QPR.He was never given the chance. You dont have to have a great deal of knowledge about QPR to come to the conclusion that although the current board came to our rescue...they still do not seem to understand what it takes to be a manager of a Championship side.

Your post (in my opinion and a few others) appears to come across that there is/ should be a catergory of importance in QPR fans.Im not being abusive nasty, just trying to put my view over.

I couldnt give a toss about Report, I find him just as tedious and boring as you to be honest.

How can someone who did not go that game, give an opinion? Surely, its being given to them?

Its like giving an opinion for example on a film? if you've seen it and if you've not, opinion will differ?
Surely this applies to UK bases supporters as well, singling out fans abroad is petty and narrow minded,I have seen QPR play over 700 times but in recent years not as much, does that make me "not a fan"
I am getting my ST back next year but that doesn't make me any more of a fan thast live 5000 miles away.
why are you trying to alienate our fanbase?

everyone is entitled to an opinion, and everyone hs the free will to decide for themselves which opinions they will listed too and which they can discard or ignore.

There are some posters on this board who I read carefully there are some i scan and others i generally simply pass over. those choices have been made based on my past experience of thier "opinions" no doubt others make the same type of choices on my posts. its in the nature of things.
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks
