I remember reading a few medical people saying Cook was finished following his busted knee at Fulham. Lots like they weren't too far away from the truth.

Never really rated him as a player, even in his good spells, but feel for him. Hope he gets through it.

Gutted for him, top player when fully fit. Unfortunatly its been 3 years since he has been fully fit.

I don't think it should be forgotten how well Cook was playing under Harford before he ended up leaving us.

I had the same fears about him myself, but before he got sick right on the brink of Warnock joining us, he was our stand out player.

I would desperately love to see him back playing regularly for us, personally speaking I don't think he is finished.

He has been terribly unlucky, but if anyone can come back from the injury sustained it will be him... A far cry from the likes of Vine IMO.

He reminds me of the cricketer Simon Jones. Fabulous talent who will in fits and bursts showcase that talent but spends most of his time in the treatment room. Worcester couldn't afford to keep hold of Jones and we will have to decide whether we can do the same.

I'd argue he's performed well in maybe half a dozen games since his return which quite frankly isn't worth the money. If we could get a full season out of him playing naturally out on the left then great but the signing of Mackie suggests that Cook will be (if fit) a bit part player for us next season.

Ooh....but Jones was WORLD class. Potential to be one of the top 3 fast bowlers in world cricket. Unfortunately Cookie was/is a poor mans Kevin McLeod.

True, true. I look at that bowling line up going into this winter Ashes and can't see how we are going to get 20 wickets - how we could do with someone like Simon Jones.

Anyway, you are quite right Cook is not and never has or will be World Class.

If we do sign Ed the Hurdler I'd say we won't miss Cook one little bit.

macca is a real good mate of mine (met him through rangers), i see and talk to him all the time, so i just want to clear one thing up, even tho you havent actually said it, but he never ever drank or touched gear.
ive been out with him on untold all nighters and he still never touches a drop of anything alcholic or illegal.
really dont know what happened to him, was so talented but he never reached his true potential that he only showed in flashes.
also ollie didnt like him either which never helped, and is also why im really suprised hes thinking of giving his best pal jeffers another chance at the big time. (he lived at frannys gaff when he was at arsenal and macca was with us)

Not quite sure I agree with that. McLeod seemed like a kick and run merchant. Very quick but not too much more to offer.

Get rid, dead weight. Was he hot being shipped out to Millwall anyway? Has done nothing decent for us for quite a while, yes that money thing was lovely, sound bloke blah blah blah. Harsh reality is he is a waste of cash now that could be spent elsewhere.

How did you get to know him through Rangers fella? He used to crack me up in the Players Bar back in the day. Really nice missus and his nipper was a funny one, missus weren't bad looking too (which goes with the territory).
