if big signing means paid decent money for and took someone whose club didn't want him to go probably Roy Wegerle. Most players we've bought since were not wanted by their clubs.

Recently, probably Routledge as he was at Aston Villa and Spurs etc.

Routledge was the most exciting player/signing for me for years
thought we was heading in the right direction roundabout that time

ADEL TAARABT - IMO. One of the most exciting players to sign since the likes of Trevor Sinclair, Andy Sinton & Roy Wegerle. Routledge was close but this guy is fantastic to watch on his day. Too many just view his negative due to the society we now live in. If we win and he played well he was the best thing ever, but when we under performed and lost people had the daggers out. To me Taarabt is the first player we've had at the club in a long time who can change a game in a instance.

                          Mike Sheron?

Stoke desperately wanted to keep him and 4 other clubs were sniffing around
