the fact that they are close to liquidation might have something to do with them spending way too much on players. £4m is unrealistic for us, but no reason why we can't get a couple of good strikers for a million/ millian and a half.

see what stainrod has said,hit the nail on the head. some are expecting us to splash 3/4 mill on one player & it aint ever gonna happen. me personally would be happy with the likes of Henderson(sheff utd) & maclean( posh) as a front pairing,wont cost the earth & think they would compliment each other really well.

And whilst I agree with the comments about not divorcing our ambitions as supporters from the financial realities (or owners), I have to say that £4m or even £10m or £15m (you het the picture) to get us promoted is good business. Even if we can down after one season the parachute payments are now £48m. WBA have that sussed. Possibly Newcastle too. Burnley look to have grasped it. Boro waking up to it..... the list goes on. The dosh is in the Prem. Even failure from it pays.

But the flip side of the coin is failure in the championship - when you've shot your bolt trying to get out of it, as we did the first year we were relegated from the premiership -can lead to virtual oblivion. Think you need to tread a middle course - have to invest to try to go up, but spend too much and the downsides are massive - even if they are always ignored by fans until it is too late.
