Hodgson has done well at Fulham and has had a distinguished career but lets face it he has not scaled the real heights and I just don't think would have the profile.

For there to be a meaningful change we would need a top, top manager with say a 10 year contract to cast away 90% of what we have and start with a team of hungry youngsters and be given a free reign to do whatever needed. We would probably struggle for a few years before seeing the benefit, hence 10 year contract, but can't see things changing anytime soon. Would need to be a Mourinho or Sir Alex calibre. Anything less will make no difference. Out footballing culture is rock bottom and no signs of it improving.
This is the obvious solution...starting by giving Joe hart the England No1 jersey..and stating..if you f..k up first game...we will keep you there for 2 years...but this will not happen.Fans are not patient enough....not educated enough to realise that Franz b is/was correct in his verdict on the English football team and where cappelo has taken us.The media wouldn't buy it.So we troll out the same expectations we have had for the past 20 odd years and fail every time. The bottom line, is, we are not very good as a team and do not have enough very good or even good enough players around at the moment.

Put the youngsters in? Im all for that.Come out and state it's a 4 year plan( hand on ..ive heard that one before)...No chance...let's give another aging Foreign manager 6 mill a year....

thanks for trying to big us up, but that is total nonsense. germany would of won that even if we scored 5 goals, they would of scored more.
they stopped playing after they got to four, and for that we have to thank them. nearly every time they got to our half they run the bal into the corner to let the game run down rather than score more.
that game could of so easily ended 6 or 7 - 2.
we were outplayed and the disallowed goal was a travesty, but would of made no difference to the lesson we were dished out imho.

Have to disagree. And I dont try to big you up. But Germany were clearly on their heels. You had them on the hook. And especially Arne Fredricks and Per Merchtesacker started to show clear signs of nerves.

The Argentina game is another matter.

I predict a win to Germany, and thats because Germany´s heart of defence and their fullback Boateng is their week link.
Do magine Messi, Higuain etc going forward!!
Germany´s chance to win is on the other hand Argentin´s week link; THEIR cb´s.

So bottomline here is: Your doom and gloom regarding you national team is just as easy to spot as the the one of other nations.
Do also remember that you played well enough when you had to win the final game in the group stage

You problem is the hype your players are getting every day of the year.
            Indeed! Well said.
My first game was boxing day 96 QPR 3-2 Norwich....yes we actually beat Norwich.

If the F.A. decide not not pay Capello off - and they might not want that embarrassment - then that means he'll be in charge for the Euro qualifiers. If we waltz through them as easy as the World Cup qualifiers it won't disguise the fact that we are just not good enough to win the actual thing.

He has to either change his methods, (have a Plan B for a start) or be changed. Simple as.
