Players are banned from discussing their futures whilst playing in the World Cup. Wait until the World Cup Final then we will see some signings!

Well no one will know until the end of next season, it sounds like Warnock is building an ageing side on experience which is ok, but we will have to see.

For starters, he's actually a centre-back, had been his whole career until he came to us, but he will play lef-back for you. Despite difference in position, he is a very similar player to Derry; getting older, legs going, but fantastic leader. Will give his all plus more, but don't expect him to do well against relatively fast wingers, or to mark properly at set-pieces. He will also give away clumsy fouls.

Despite his limitations as a footballer, he was pretty loved here because of his effort, commitment, battling and leadership skills. Like Derry, I am fairly happy to see him leave now, going out on a high after Hillsborough and keeping us up, rather than sign a 1/2 year contract, and just not being up to it anymore.

He does/did have a very injury prone record before he joined us though, which was solved by him only training 1 or 2 days a week. I also believe he, or his wife, got very homesick during his time with us, and he sometimes would train by himself/with a lower-league club nearby Liverpool on spaces between games.

Thanks for the info Jams, but anyone would be homesick if they had to spend time in Saarf london.

i'm fine with having hill and derry around in the squad - experienced warnock lieutenants and all that - but i don't want to see us relying on them for the first team all season.

if taarabt signs i wonder how much he'll come for - if the board think stumping up £2m for him and cutting corners everywhere else is going to bring the punters in they're sadly mistaken.

I agree, but the point I'm making is that so many people seem to have such in-depth knowledge of other team's players I often wonder which team they watch on a regular basis.

Even the most dedicated fan could only have seen Hill play twice a season and when I go to games I tend to focus on the performances of our players, not the opposition's. Perhaps we all look at games differently, but the only opposition players that catch my eye are those who put in match winning performances.

If Warnock has previously worked with a player day in day out, then he is a better judge than me and I would guess most on this MB

Maybe Palace and Sheff Utd should have a 'Bring and Buy' sale at QPR, they could just bring all the players and Neil knowing most of them will just be able to take his pick, save all this faffing around.

Probably some truth to this but your right, i'd definately say this is mostly sour grapes.
