Loaned Out Players

After reading that Angelo Balanta is being loaned out for a season got me thinking. Have we ever loaned out a player who has returned and established himself as a regular first teamer ? I can't think of one. But I'm old and the memory isn't what it used to be.

from my memory alan mcdonald, went to charlton on loan when he was a youth player. i remember him playing against us and losing !

ive never seen what all the fuss about balanta is. Ive only ever seen acouple of goals and anonymous performances. i suppose a year out on loan will do him good.
