So effectively two DM's with a Diamond ahead with Faurlin @ base and the Striker at the point.

With two attacking full backs and a quality target man that system would work. Potential lack of width but allows Faurlin to dictate and switch play and both Buzz and Taraabt to operate off of the striker.

So IMO if Taraabt signs then we still need 4 players, RB/LB/STR/STR.

Thoughts?

Quite simple..any diamond, 3-5-2, player off the front man formation will only work with Taarabt in the side.

I don't think it will be too far off TBH. There might be 1 maybe 2 other players in contention but I would think that would be pretty close.

I'm just surprised that team even warranted your reply, to be honest! However hypothetical the original team was.
But he's entitled to believe what he wants, no problem.
