It has been confirmed by many sources that Ambrose discussed and agreed terms, that a deal had been struck between us and the Administrator of CP and that Ambrose had passed a medical - all of these are facts. The other facts are that CP got taken over and things change in football.

Warnock himself has said he expects Ambrose to join, based on their discussions and verbal agreement however he appreciates things may be different after discussions with his current (new) employers.

I don't think this player any longer features in the targets/wanted list of our manager because it will either happen or it wont - it's "done" in as much as medical passed, terms agreed and deal with previous "owner" agreed - but the new owners have bought CP as a package which includes existing playing staff which includes Ambrose.

I don't think there is room for any more speculating on this one - he will join or he won't and Warnock will either love him for being true to his word or respect him for being loyal to his current cause.

              Que sera sera

good to see warnock has said himself that he wants 2 strikers. It is a relief that he has spotted our weaknesses, and is tryign to put them right. I think a lot of us have become impatient, and have just assumed out strike force will stay as it is. I hope this has proved most of us doubters wrong

Kenny is a top keeper.. fair enough clarke and mackie are dross but we must stick by warnocks decision and support him for next season

I wouldn't call Mackie dross either.

But it's about how they shape up on the pitch. That's the only way to see what kind of signings we've made.
We could sign Ambrose, have many fans doing cartwheels at the ambition shown by getting him...and he could turn out to be useless.
Mackie could be seen as a real bargain in a few months time, or a waste of space.

£2.75m hot-shot striker from Stoke anyone?
Or 100k for a mouthy journeyman from Carlisle United?

I wonder what the reaction to those two signings would have been, if there were messageboards around at the time.

if you haven't already purchased a season ticket would these signings inspire you to do so ? (including Ambrose)
