How can you say World In Motion is dull?

Maybe because he thinks it's dull?




I think it's so popular because it's associated with the best World Cup, and the best England team since 1970.
But I find it a dull song too.

Because it is. Tell me what part isn't? No nostalgia and a poorly attempted effort at rap from Barnes. Ok, you prefer WIM to Three Lions, but please, seeing as you've questioned it's dullness, could you explain where the 'feel good' factor, or at least some sort of uplifting set of lyrics are?

Three Lions boasts plenty of nostalgia and uplift. Even our patriotic version of Eileen is better. Right at the start, the commentry for David Beckhams free kick against Greece kicks in. I always picture myself in the Red Lion in Redhill, where me and my mates watched it. To say that pubs atmousphere went mental is an understatement. Like Three Lions, it still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Both bring great memories. WIM does absolutely nothing for me.

Three lions for me. To say its for johnny come lately is a bit silly. why does it make me that? Because it was released after WIM? Okay then ...

Three lions pumps you up more, its linked into football more if you get what i mean. It has more references to the teams.

WIM is quality, dont get me wrong, but 3lions is the best!

'World In Motion' is a typical New Order style soulless dull monotone type song. Absolute rubbish.

'Three Lions' has a great chorus, a much better written song, and much more rousing. Which do you hear on the terraces...

Essentially it is the catchiness and cheekiness of Britpop versus the self-induelgent trip of electonica of the 80's.

WIM brings back the 90 World Cup, god never has a world cup meant so much to me than that hot summer of 90 and i love that song. 3 Lions though is the best football song ever IMHO, its why most of the countries in the world sing it as well, stroke of genius.
