If James Milner is worth 30 million,

Then Stan Bowles, at todays prices, would be 100 mil, plus. Football has gone mad!

i agree regarding Stan although he would probably be priceless !!!
Regarding Milner if he is worth £30 million in today's market where does that leave the price for the pending sale of Fabregas ? £80million at least !!!!

Don't know if you ever saw Bowles play, but if Milners class, then in my opinion, Stan was a genius.

Have only seen Milner on pay TV in Australia, but he is no Stan Bowles. Bowles was probably the best player to ever wear a QPR shirt (better than Rodney, who wasn't so much of a team player). Bowles was one of those players who rarely had a bad game. And he scored as well as made goals. Possibly only George Best in my lifetime was a more useful player. Those two were different class to just about every UK-born and raised player in English football from @ 1962--2010. Jimmy Greaves, Gerry Francis, and a few others (incl. Tony Currie) turned it on for a few years but Bowles and Best delivered the goods game after game, year after year. It is an indication of how Murdoch & Co. and the lack of a salary cap have ruined English football that we will never ever be able to hold onto a player of that class (if we ever find one) for very long again.

milner offers stable midfield, vision and goals. Very consistent performer at a high level . Has been the stand out England U21 player over the years and fully expect him to fill Lampards shoes. 30 mil is alot but its Man City that boost up the price by 10 mil

I'm not old enough to have seen Bowles or Marsh but I do agree that the price teams are willing to pay is ridiculous. I understand a lot has to deal with age of player and length of contract remaining but £30m for a player who has yet to establish his place in his national side is stupid. I'd rather spend a few million more and get Villa.

He'd definitely be worth as much as Ronaldo or Kaka, thats for sure.

If Milner is worth £30m, what's Leon Clarke worth?
