Rumours through a friend...

I enjoy most of the posts from Egham/walkonby/and pete, its the reason i come on this board and not to read cry babies throwing tantrums regarding posible player targets.

rumours are good. they're fun, and only idiots believe everything they read. what is slightly wierd is when people post rumours so that they can get some kind of ego bounce of it. not everyone is like that - walkonby and benny don't come across like that - but some are and i was pointing out how childish it is. not crying about it mate. i don't read this board a lot, so it's a casual observation is all.

I see what you're saying, so apologies for the over reaction.

All I'll say is that I don't believe Pete, Egham nor any other fan does this for their ego's. Pete may get a little excited and post a little too quick on hearing of rumours, but that's not all bad. I prefer to be told of things when info is passed on. It gives us all something to talk about.

It's posts like this one that prevent others for passing on info. Take Walkonby for example. Loyal fan, good bloke and someone who clearly has inside information of sorts. He no longer posts. Not because the abuse and taunts bother him...he can look after himself. He's chosen not to because it's not worth the hassle. That's a shame as he passes on good info.

Anyway, let's hope we sign some tallent. We desperately need to.

I agree,and thankfully walkonby has started posting again and hopefully the few idiots who like to knock him and egham and Pete everytime they post a rumour will just get bored and **** off.

the point is there are too many people on this site who's egos, perhaps even their self-esteem, are propped up by how itk they are. pete is the worst for this from what i can see. benny, my post wasn't aimed directly at you but at egham who i'm sure i recall said he wouldn't be posting rumours on here anymore. "hope they come off for you" sounds very much to me like it's all about how many correct rumours you can chalk off rather than who signs for the club for the good of the club, which i find sad in an amusing way. cringeworthy, know what i mean?

Now I get ya. I'm guilty of posting news with excitment which sometimes might come across as though I'm trying to chalk up brownie points. Never intend it that way and in all fairness if you compare my recent track record to a horse it would be like a 3 legged one! People do need to get real on here though as all the in-fighting is getting stupid. I have a few keep clear moments of late due the stupidity that is becoming on here.

Think you've misinterpreted it. It's not about eeeeeeeegos, BennyBoy simply posted what he has heard and Egham has commented in the sense he hopes we sign that list of players. That's the trouble with this site too many people (I'll be nice) sit in the shadows waiting to pounce when someone gets something wrong.

quite pleased with that list not so happy with iwelumo he is about as much use as a pair of sunglasses on a guy with 1 ear.

mackie i dont know much about but think he could b good but hill im in 2 minds about.

the rest get a thumbs up from me and would like 2 c hooper and tosic added 2 that list!!!

There's no point me banging my head against the wall. I've said on a few occassions why I feel Mackie will be a great signing. My opinion won't change just because you and wikipedia tell me his stats mean he's pooh. When we're in the Prem and fighting it out in Europe, then I expect perfection. Right now, I expect good CCC players. Mackie, Speroni, Danns all fit that profile.

That's just my opinion though. If Wikipedia helps voice yours, that's fine, but I've seen Mackie a few times and he always shone.

Benny, it isn't only his stats.

He is 24 years old played for a number of seasons and has largely gone unnoticed. I've never heard of him and I don't think many others have either.

If he was as good as you say, surely there would have been interest shown in him from other clubs. To me it sounds as if you think he is more of a creater than a goalscorer, which if true, I don't think he is what QPR need. QPr had these last season in Taarabt, Routledge and Buzsaky etc, yet the chances were missed by Helguson, Vine, Simpson, Agyemang, Priskin, German.

Still, different opinions is one of the things that makes football so interesting.
