We Will Stay Up..But Not Optimistic About promotion Next Season
fair enough Robbo but you still have me thinking on what 3 players from a starting 11 it should be. I think we need 9 as Conners and Faurlin are the only 2 worth any time.
Totally agree with conners and Faurlin. The rest can go.
we need at least 10 GOOD players in vital positions...will the board spend the 10 - 15 million required tho? pocket change to committed billionaires...but are they truly committed?
I say lets worry about what will happen in the summer and next season WHEN or if we get ourselves safe THIS season.AT THIS POINT,i dont care about next season.
My feeling is money will be made available, problem is the job is now much bigger than any of us realised even a few months ago. Then we were talking about four/ five signings making us a strong side, now everyone agrees we need more like eight/ nine or even ten. There will be some good players available for free (Finnan for example at right back) but if the board are remotely serious about promotion then it will mean spending some serious money on at least a couple of strikers as you won't get a proven, quality goalscorer who isn't at last knockings for under a couple of million quid.
Sorry not so sure I share your optmism. very poor yesterday all the other teams seem up for the fight we have too many weak or bad players
Hogan .Cook Hill. stewart. Legs .German .pr**kskin .vine
finding hard to see where we will get the points from can't afford to palace on Sat. looking at the remaining games. Palace 0pts- Cardiff 0pts -pos 1pt against watford-0pts at Barnsley we really dont travel well,- Newcastle 0pts just a big party for the Geordies. sorry I wish I had your Faith!
whos to blame for the players we've brought in over the last few seasons then?
must've spent a lot of money and they're still not good enough.
spent millions.....on the wrong players, either other teams rejects or crocks just looking to get fit. We now have a totally unbalanced team of poor players with the worst of them playing in vital positions. Need to start all over again and never again let Paladini have ANY influence at our club otherwise it will go #### up again

I don't think it's quite as bad as that, but we certainly need to sign a number of quality players, and certainly a decent spine to the team. Having said that, we should be able to pick up some decent players fairly cheaply - we are one of the highest paying Clubs in the CCC and I think that will continue.
So players nearing the end of their contracts would be interested. I think Faurlin, Connolly, Cook are good enough for a promotion winning side. If we can get Taarabt and Simpson for the reported accepted bids, that will still leave over £5 million to sign a big striker, strong central midfielder and an uncompromising centre back. I think we could get Speroni and Heaton reasonably cheaply, or just Speroni and keep Cerny. Gorkks alongside a big centreback would probably be OK and look a much better player although his lack of pace is a concern. The Serbian left back looks promising. Probably need a wide sided player on the right as well - maybe nick one from Palace or
go into the lower leagues for a cheaper promising player.
WOW! 40 players bought in by an inept DoF and we still need '8-10' players and STILL, Pete can't admit what a shambolic job Paladini did.
Were you ever the Iraqi's Intelligence Officer during the 2nd Gulf War, Pete?
Look on the Bright Side though - we still have Aygemang, Helguson, Alberti and Hall under contract for a while yet...
...Happy Days!
If it weren't for Wednesday's run in, I think relegation would be a certainty; if we do go down at least we might challenge for something next season...

Yep.
Still, at least we kept watford fans happy. Paid for Helguson to gain them some vital points which could keep them up.
