Stewart is unbelievably poor and nowhere near good enough to be part of a team pushing for glory. He's not even close to being smart enough. Sure, he's big and strong and does possess pace but he's a donut.

I'm a fan or Gorkss' and although he's not had the greatest time of late, he's still a FAR better CB than Stewart. Yes, I feel we need to sign a proper CB and one who'll compliment Connolly (who I feel is our best option) and a couple of full backs but for me, Damo is the weak link and needs to go.

ffs he is playing in 1 league below the premiership and he is a complete Donkey. I can handle donkeys but not erratic donkeys that are a shock a min.
Have to agree with Pete that Hall is a better player. Could you see Stewart playing at Newcastle ffs he wouldn't look out of place at Brentford with his ability.

id be looking for a new CB partner to play alongside connolly next season.stewart and gorkks have both looked out of there depth this season.one thing i will say tho is that the back 4 has been swapped and changed so much this season no wonder they have been off form.

I think both of them could do a job if they had a leader telling them what to do. Having both playing at the same time is the problem.

i disagree with all of you once warnock has properly fired up his midfield the defenders will be better protected,i think stewert and gorrks are premeirship class


and i think hall is useless,he has no positional sence at all ,although he looks an elegant player hes no center half,perhaps hes a midfield or full back,.but hes useless at center half

It doesn't help your central defenders when your full backs are average at best.Ramage's lack of pace means wingers will get past him and put central defenders under pressure.Having a commanding keeper also helps centre backs.I still feel that Gorkks is a decent emough player put half the time he is getting caught trying to cover too many positions.

Defending doesn't just start at the back however - having good holding midfielders and wingers/wide players that track back helps.

In the games were we were beating teams 3-4 -1 early season is good example.Attack is the best form of defence?Once teams sussed us out - our attacking flair was quashed.

so thats new keeper,new defence (apart from Connoly) new Right Winger (let the best RW go in Routledge) and new Strikers (2 at least). Hope rumours of Colin only having £5 million to spend is untrue as hes gonna have to stretch it to buy that little lot.

Agree, just look at the recent amount goals we've conceaded most of them have been down to these two.

Gorkss has given away countless pens this season he looks slow and clumsey if we want to move forward we need better centre halves our defence has been awful for most of the season.

Have to agree with you. If one aspect of the team definately needs to be improved on for next season, it's the defence, and Stewart & Gorks in particular.

stewart is a poor mans big dan,gorrks is very overated no pace anyone who gets bullied by jon parkin is not the standard we are looking for moving forward.

i would suggest the following defenders,
big dan,matthew killgallon,danny gabbiadon,matt mills,ryan bertrand,nat clyne,danny fox,jay de merrit,elliot ward,shaun st ledger, all better than the current shower.
