My Scottish Contacts..Re..Mowbray and Jay Simpson

Tell me Tony Mowbray was at Rangers eyeing up Jay Simpson.

if they were interested, could we out bid a club like Celtic?

Appreciated, the SPL is a joke league with only 2 clubs in it but there is still a certain draw about playing for Rangers or Celtic.

Both clubs have a lot of history and pull in over 40,000 fans to every home game. Also you are pretty much gaurenteed European football every season.

It's not for everyone but I could see how a player could be tempted by a move to Rangers or Celtic.

Scott said "Rangers and Celtic are generally for players who cant get into a Prem team or older players looking for a last".
Much like those signing for QPR recent times then !

Yes we could match Celtic & Rangers, but probably won't.
On the plus side, Mowbray would have left having wintnessed 2 rare poor finishes from Jay, one in each half. So hopefully, he won't return to see what we know !

He might like the idea of playing in front of 60,000 every week at home and guaranteed european football champs lg or europa.
