  • Does Briatore still have sway at QPR ?

...I don't wish to pour cold water on the current feelgood factor at LR...but an article in today's Daily Mail does give cause for concern if true.It reads..."QPR fans will be concerned that Flavio Briatore, despite standing down as Chairman of the holding company,is expected to remain a major influence behind the scenes at Loftus Road, especially with his stake in the Cipriani Restaurant which provides food for corporate packages. The situation could be explosive if Briatore meddles in team selection again with combustible Neil Warnock in charge".

For my part,I think if he attends future games at LR, his mere presence in the C Club seating area of the stand will put shivers up the backs of the players. For the sake of the team and the long term good of QPRFC "stay away Briatore". :yush:

I dont think he will have as'much influence as they make out, sounds like scare mongering to me, they havent done their homework either as cipranis are in admin and no longer do the catering side

He still has a decent % and thus has an influence, but a small influence in board decisions.

Wouldnt worry about him personally, Ishan is running the show now.

Re. Ciprianis, considering the food at HQ isnt done by them and hasnt been done by them for a whilst methinks the Mail dont know what the hell they are talking about!!! (sorry HA, typed before i'd read yours)

Food at HQ is done by a company called Azure http://www.azurecatering.co.uk/

re Catering....and its better than Ciprianis in my opinion

Azure wins Queens Park Rangers contract

Azure, the Stadia sports & leisure catering and hospitality specialist, has won a five year contract worth £7.5 million to supply catering and hospitality to one of London's major football clubs, Queens Park Rangers (QPR).

Starting in June, Azure will provide a range of catering facilities from match day hospitality and retail sales to catering for conferences and events at the stadium.

As part of the deal, award winning Elior Chef Rory Thompson will oversee the catering for the Football League Championship club alongside experienced catering and sales manager, Louise Herridge. In addition to providing catering to the stadium, Azure will be responsible for marketing and selling the stadium's catering for non-match day use.

The catering facilities provided by Azure will include 20 food kiosks and four restaurants. With average crowds of 14,000 and a total capacity of over 18,500, the team at Azure will have a big crowd to please.

Adam Elliott, Azure managing director, said: "This is a fantastic endorsement of the efforts made by the Azure team in London and the South East. Securing a contract to cater to a stadium of this size has real strategic importance to us as we continue to focus on building our business in the South East and with leading football stadia. With our passion, dedication and expertise we look forward to meeting the high standards demanded by a stadium such as QPR."

Michael Audis, Elior UK's chief executive officer, added: "It was only last month that we announced a new deal with the Murrayfield Rugby Stadium in Edinburgh and I am delighted to have secured a contract with another hugely reputable stadium so quickly.

"It is through our proven and continued excellent work that we continue to build new relationships in the stadia market and with sports venues across to the UK. We are passionate about winning new business in this area and continuing to support the diverse catering requirements of businesses in this bespoke industry."

We have still not been told how much The Mittals own and that to me overshadows all this hype. Great job done in rallying the troops, though still don't understand whats so difficult in letting us know, what the share relative is at the club.

Why wouldn't he, he is still a major shareholder and I presume, he still a member of the board.

The difference today is he is not the major shareholder or the chairman, praise be.
