  • Who would your first signing be and why ?

    Mine would be Chris Morgan.

I know many of you think he is a thug etc, but the guy has great aerial ability and is a great leader on the pitch, something we have been badly missing for quite some time.

Don't get me wrong, Lee Cook is QPR through and through, but he is too quiet a player to be captain.

Kit, absolutely nothing that wrong with Cerny. Top keeper in the Division last season. Has not become a bad keeper overnight.

The problems are in front of him.

Dunno about that, I've heard his back is totally shot!

Morgan is a complete Neanderthal and wouldn't want him anywhere near our club TBH... agree about Speroni as he seems a very tasty GK indeed....

If that is true Tarbie, than fair enough. If not then i see it as a waste of a loan.

Have to say mind, that it is very strange that he never always looked to play goal kicks short.

For me Chris Morgan is not what is required.

In my opinion he is a very 'basic' central defender.

I do think we need to get Cerny back in goal and I also think we have the worst defence in the league. Stewart and Ramage are league 1 players at best and Gorkks is painfully slow on the turn. I have seen oil tankers turn quicker. We really do need 2 play legs at right back move connolly in to replace stewart and look to bring in a decent left back as I am yet to see one. Sort out the defence and go from there, we won't be picking up any points until we stop conceding poor goals.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

ahR, if we went back a couple of seasons on this board, I recall how people equally as negative about Warnock becoming our manager.
Bottom line, is that the guy has a passion to win more than any player currently in our squad. Very rarely gets beaten in the air either.

I would go as far to say that he is probably the most effective centre back in the Championship.

Totally agree. We have two of the poorest full backs in the league and a couple of clowns as centre backs.Gorkss has gone from being a competent C half to an utter mess of a player....But actaully Connors - defending starts further uo the pitch...and our midfield is not strong enough either.

A Chris Morgan type character is needed in this league, maybe Morgan to old but need that sort of defender for me.

need a helluva big clearout in the summer. Apart from 3 or 4 we have a squad full of poorly chosen mercenaries and journeymen here for the pay day. Gonna be hard to get rid of most of them as they are just not wanted by teams able to pay them the kind of wages they would accept to end their lucrative and long contracts they have with us

Depends on your viewpoint really and whether you are a win at all costs sort of person. I'm not and also I detest players who deliberately go out to inflict GBH on colleagues/fellow pros... Morgan is a nasty piece of work who you could argue is effective at some basic aspects of the game but wouldn't want him anywhere near LR....

Now that oaf Flabio has finally taken a back seat we should be in a position whereby we can be a little more selective....

Blimey we are going back to the dark and desperate days where we had Vinnie Jones and Razor Ruddock.... a very depressing retrospective I'm sure most would agree...

By all means have a tough guy at the back but not one who if he behaved like he did off the pitch as he does on it he'd probably have done a few stretches inside by now.... Chris Morgan... NO THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

I agree there 'should' be nothing wrong with Cerny and he is a very decent keeper, so why is he not playing ? Whether he isn't fit enough or has a contractual situation only time will tell but in the meantime Ikeme doesn't inspire confidence in the defence.
I also agree in front of him doesn't help and we need Connolly at Centre Half but Speroni is a top keeper, his saves against us earnt Palace their point and from other games I have seen him in I have no reason to doubt it !
Besides last time we stripped Palace we bought Burridge, Flanagan, Allen, Sealy along with the coaching staff and look what happened a year or so later !
