They beat us in that game by cheating and although we stayed up that season, it denied Man Utd the title.

Strip them of all titles and relegate them to L2!!

Can't see it ever ending. Too many clubs sitting in the wings waiting to claim how they lost out on league position, cup ties, euro football etc due to City cheating. Then, do EUFA step in with separate charges now the "legwork" has been done finding the evidence?
I kinda suspect that both parties are content for this to drift on and on and on without EVER reaching a substantive and unequivocal conclusion.... Some sort of fudge in 5yrs where City agree to accept a 35pt deduction and £50mil fine WITHOUT admitting guilt.

Out of all those charges, being found guilty of Not Complying With The Investigation ought to result in being thrown out of the league - to me, that's completely unacceptable behaviour.

"Premier League clubs are seeking legal advice about compensation relating to the charges, while BBC Sport has been told that City will appeal. Sanctions on the club are yet to be announced, but repercussions could include a points deduction, expulsion from the Premier League or a huge fine. Speaking on Radio 4's Today programme, Purslow appeared alongside football law expert Paul Gilroy KC, who described the case as a "seismic moment for world football". Purslow said: "It's a sort of 'where does this end?' because if you look at every single season - the nine seasons which we now know Manchester City breached rules - then all of their 19 Premier League rivals in that season, to differing extents, suffered easy-to-compute loss. Whether it was a place in the Premier League - every place was worth £3m"

I think we were in the premier league for two seasons during these breaches. The season of the 3-2 and the one after when we got relegated. So we are due one extra place in the league for two seasons. It would be great to pick up £6m in compensation.

This is going to go on for as long as the investigation, they broke the rules they should pay the consequences but how do you resolve it as the prem and efl separated could the efl say no you go non league ?

personally I think they should be non league bottom tier get on with it but I can see the prem bottling it and points and transfers embargo

It was pretty clear that MC were breaching rules for ages and continued to do so throughout the lengthy inquiry. But surely they were not alone. If we are asked to believe that then……
Perhaps they will let us keep their goalkeeper??

Controversial : I look at what Man City are with a great newish ground and look solid financially. The purpose of the rules for me was mostly to stop dodgy owners from bankrupting clubs and Man City aren’t that. Our owners have said they would invest more if they were allowed to so I think rules are wrong!

Why couldn't it have been the Scum? Would have loved that. Does make you wonder how many clubs bend the rules and don't get caught like we did. Wonder how much of the 17m is still owing?

When rangers were demoted from the SPL , fans said they enjoyed it getting to go to new grounds and seeing lots of there youth players in the team .

Handing out "brown envelopes" stuffed with cash has been going on for donkeys years throughout football. There are even "soft incentives" to parents of young players dished out too. Pretty sure it goes on today too. BUT, City took the pee and their systematic financial doping goes into stratospheric levels. Ultimately this is a team that struggles to fill it's stadium and routinely can't sell out it's Wembley ticket allocation yet pretends to be "massive" and attracts "sponsorship" at levels genuine worldwide behemoths like LFC and MUFC struggle to attain. The worst bit is they managed to get away with it by casually announcing they'd dig into a £multi-billion war chest to legally fight ANY attempt to punish them. What needs to be remembered is The Prem is NOT a rich entity - it does not hold cash reserves, virtually all it's income gets distributed to clubs and grassroots development. They simply do not have the means to take on any rich club/owner who wants to have it out in Court.

Good post. I completely agree with this.
The rules were brought in to stop teams muscling in on the Man utds , Liverpool , Arsenal and the other so called big boys of the time. They did'nt like it when Chelsea and Man city had rich owners that were prepared to invest money to buy the best players to win the titles and cups etc. So they brought these stupid rules in under the guise that it was to stop bad owners bankrupting clubs etc. Also even if City did break these stupid rules , at worst they will get a fine just like Chelsea , its all a load of ###### , just let owners spend what they like. I feel sorry for clubs like Newcastle and Villa that have been wanting to invest but can't because of all this sustainability #### and have even had to sell players just to try and keep up.
