Loyalty Points - NOT rewarding fans that actually go away

Antics of the club with loyalty points past week or so is doing my head in!

Basically, they awarded 50pts to anyone who went to the Fiorentina friendly and now they're giving 10pts to anyone who goes to the Wall game. So, SIXTY points for going to two home games with heavily discounted admission.

For context, you won't get 60 points if you fork out North of £500 going to all of the games at Boro, Bolton, Blackburn, PNE, Wrexham and Swansea.

Given that the main use and advantage of loyalty points is gaining 1st dibs on away tickets, it seems that actually going to away games gets you relatively eff all in terms of getting up the pecking order.

This has been a point of contention for years , to give fans 50 points for fiortentina is ridiculous.
My mate doesn't miss a game home and away , even goes to the friendlies in England....
He should and fans like him given 1st dibs , then should come the STs

I don't agree on STs - I view going to home games and going to away games as two different kettles of fish. I'm quite happy for ST holders to be first in line for home cup games, home play-off games and Wembley visits. But, I don't see why a ST who barely goes to an away game gets precedence over a non-ST holder who goes to loadsa away games for away tickets, it doesn't seem right. I can't agree with a ST holder who goes to NO away games accruing far more loyalty points than a fan who goes to EVERY away game. Compounding that with the Fiorehtina nonsense was just too much!

From a travel and cost perspective, every game is an away game for me. It costs me less watching us in Bristol than HQ.

Those who have an away ST should get more points than a home ST. Getting more points for a one off game seems a bit desperate to me.

I think I'm right in saying that the ONLY use for loyalty points is getting access to away tickets? An away ST holder therefore doesn't actually need extra (or any) loyalty points - they are already sorted for their ticket to Lincoln and whatever other games turn into a stampede and bunfight for tickets.

You're right about it being desperate though. In fact that's probably too polite - cynical would be a better word.

I've never really looked into what loyalty points get you? I already get discounts at the shop from being a member, not that I ever buy anything though. Apart from that, they might come in handy in getting a play off ticket one day????

Testo club points are of more use to me.

I’ve always assumed loyalty points were issued to get us to buy tickets and as such sales for Fiorentina were probably going badly and they wanted to sort that out perhaps for ££ reasons. Sales are bad for tickets for cups games. They do issue a bit more for ‘difficult to travel to away games. Agree 50 for Fiorentina was odd but perhaps there are reasons for it and we’ll get an answer to at next q and a.
