  • Non league

As our season has come to an abrupt end, certainly on an away day get yourself down to Wealdstone just north of harrow. We should all give as much support to their new manager the legend that is Gary Waddock. Think I speak on behalf of all rangers fans in wishing you the best of luck! We are crying out for a midfielder with half of his qualities
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I do wish him and Wealdstone well, for the rest of the season, but I have other non-league loyalties .....

    ...... Come on Hendon!

Hates & Yeading are my other team. They have slipped so far down the food chain from where they once were. It is very sad really to see both them and QPR where they now are.
I recall when we only used to play Wealdstone as a favour to them. As we all know, Sir Les and Cyrille Regis both came from Hayes.
I am fully aware that I have to be careful what I say here and certainly mean no disrespect. However there are similarities in the ways that both clubs are now owned. I think this may be a factor worthy of some consideration.

I remember watching the Middlesex Senior Cup Final at Enfield FC between finalists Hendon and Southall in March 1986. That was the first time I saw Sir Les who was playing for Southall at the time and who was already then attracting attention from league clubs. Tony Currie had a brief stint at Hendon that season, and in the following season Iain Dowie played for Hendon, who in the home league game against Farnborough Town faced Dennis Bailey. In 96/97 season Jermaine Darlington played for Hendon etc. etc....

Hey Sheep, check out Hendon FC's club badge: it is a creature close to your heart. 02876293-7ADF-4043-94FA-EEA458A2890B.jpg

I went along to the F.A. Trophy final at Wembley in 1985 between Wealdstone and Boston United when Wealdstone had Vinnie Jones playing for them. They did the non-league double that season: pity they weren't destined to go into the league on that fabulous achievement.

What on earth is Hendon's association with sheep?
