I dunno what the club can do.... the water table is the water table, is eff all you can do about it. I'm sure there will be loads of substrate experts chipping in and maybe there is a solution, but I would guess it would involve excavating so deep and wide it would be logistically impossible to complete within a close season and would cost several £million. Even then, who's to say that water won't ingress after after a few years and undermine it all?
To me, this is just another nail in the coffin of our ground's long-term future, it's currently not fit for purpose in terms of watching OR playing football. Yeah, we can come up with short-term patches for the pitch but we will get left behind in coming decades if we continue doing nothing in terms of the bigger picture.
