  • Billy Bonds

Understand that Billy Bonds has passed away. Great player and true WHU legend. I never realised that he never played for England. Extraordinary! Apparently a really nice guy too.
What we could do with someone half as good as him!!
He played at a great time for football. Can you imagine Billy rolling around on the floor injured?
Condolences to all his family and friends. RIP Billy and thanks for all those memories.

    RIP Billy.

Another former player gone from dementia. Those old heavy sodden footballs played a part no doubt.

A true hammers legend - very much the heart and soul of that club when I was growing up amongst many WHU fans amongst my mates. Feels a very different era now, but the fans never forgot him and his endeavours - 799 games, but remarkably never capped for England. RIP Billy.

Unanimity on this one. Watching the Chelsea vs Arsenal game yesterday, it struck me how much less enjoyable football can be now. Billy was certainly no shrinking violet but that game yesterday. That was horrible. Very little to do with football, more like UFC. Congratulations to the referee, the best man on the pitch, for controlling things as well as he did. If that is football at the highest level then so be it, but I'd sooner do something else.
