Doesn't matter how it scans or trips off the tongue... as long as he eats snails, drinks champagne and hates CFC he will get serenaded. I suppose there are other foodstuffs and beverages to play around with: garlic, frog's legs, baguettes, bouillabaisse, cheese, merlot, burgundy etc etc I'm sure our talented yoof mob will rise to the occasion.

I see that BBC Sport is now reporting that Sky Sports have said it's a done deal and should be announced next week. This might just be a case of re-cycled "news" where it all traces back to the same iffy source but once heavyweight credible news outlets carry the story I suppose it probably has some legs.

Perhaps the plan, faute de mieux, is to start season with Betsy and Calm as caretakers

Great write up about Andy Sinton today!

Give him the job, he knows football inside out and has served the club well for ten years.

Probably can't do or announce anything till the situation with Marti has been resolved. He gets a move elsewhere or we agree to some sort of payoff.

What's happening? When I first saw this thread I was distracted and only skim read it and some posts gave me the inference it was a done deal... here we are days later and there's nowt announced.

I wonder what the stumbling block is?

Fron his profile of "possession based football" we can guess it will slow with the ball going between the defence and midfield most of the time. Too scared to lose the ball by moving it to the forwards.

True that. At the point Ainsworth was sacked last season he actually had a better points tally than Marti had at same point this season. Nourry's reaction to that duff start was giving him a contract extension though. Blimey, I bet he badly regrets that dumb move now!

I think the paying them off the whole of their contract is very rare. If he sack him and he gets another job on £1,000 a week less than we paid him then we merely make up the difference. This is Marti we're talking about not Pep!!
