Have rules changed then? It was always the case that the higher you finished the more money you received at the end of the season.

I suspect you are getting confused with the Prem where each position is worth an extra £2.2 million-ish. I cannot recall it ever being the case in EFL - certainly not this century anyway.

All Championship teams get same payment (£5/6 million-ish I believe?) irrespective of final position. Teams also get a certain figure for each TV game so I'd imagine Fulham were featured a bit more than Barnsley and thus picked up a few hundred grand more than Tykes overall.
