According to transfermarket we sold Freeman for £5m and Smithies for £3.6m
Neither player made it in the Premier League and were pretty much unused subs or squad players. So in hindsight we got fantastic money for both of them.
In 18/19 we brought in £8.5m in transfer sales and now £16m this season. Even with a realistic budget we probably need to make a £5m profit every season in player sales to break even. Looking at the squad right now we look every capable of doing that by either selling our own former academy players or selling on players we've bought from lower leagues.

The idea that the club sold on the cheap is wrong. Freeman's performance in Premie League also backs that up - he is a good Championship player indeed, but not Premiership material. If it was a bargain price, why did no other clubs care to bid for him?
However, I would love to have him back!
