I am not a huge fan of the salary caps, I think MLS is a good example why with all of these allocation rules and such you end up with some really good players (DP's) outside of the cap then a bunch of low paid NCAA players making up the numbers which dilutes the league! In saying this I do feel Euro leagues do need to have some kind of measures in place to maintain a bit of competitive balance, maybe something like MLB where if you spend over the cap you are taxed?Originally posted by AmericanHoop View Post
As an American, I have always been fascinated with the USA's reluctance towards socialism, yet american sports use socialist ideals like salary cap, hard caps, wage caps, in sports. Yet in most of Europe, Socialism is accepted (more than the US in the sense of Healthcare and some other institutions) yet Football is a capitalistic free-for-all. The large eat the small, always.
Maybe I am wrong in my assessment, but I feel that UEFA should be regulating wages/transfer fees/agent fees with alot more scrutiny. But I guess that would require UEFA and each countries FA's to not be a corrupt pile of ####.@gatorTFC

I too had no issues with what Jack Walker did at Blackburn. After all, he didn’t saddle them with the debt or bankrupt them in order to win the league.
Those issues happened after the Venky’s took over.
the system is unfair and clubs like Leicester or Brentford winning are not common events.

So, Mel Morris buys the Derby Stadium to clear the club's debts. Now, Derby have secured a loan against the stadium, which they dont own, to see them through the COVID crisis.
Derby County secure a loan against Pride Park to help them through the financial turmoil created by the coronavirus pandemic.
I'm completely confused!

Now that's very interesting. If they sold the ground to Mel Morris, only Mel Morris can borrow funds against it, surely?Originally posted by SheepRanger View PostSo, Mel Morris buys the Derby Stadium to clear the club's debts. The way things are going I reckon Wycombe might stay up next season. I was going to put them on my accumulator bet for relegation, but not now. Points deductions and administrations may dictate who goes down.Originally posted by LoftusRoadLad View Post
