Don't necessarily think anything behind the scenes.

One of the great old managers said you build your team from the back. That is your foundations. Opposition teams now know we are weak in goal and generally defensively and are exploiting that. Add in various injuries and we have lost our stride. Our foundations are shot to pieces and that is feeding through to the rest of the team. That is why Warburton was so keen to spend money on a central defender as our one big (by our standards) signing. That was one of the few recruitment things that didn't go our way in the summer. On paper we were starting the season with two promising young keepers battling for the jersey, Lumley dire season and Kelly injured.

Not the first person to say this but we need a goalie in January. Ideally a central defender, even an experienced loan one would do. Steady the ship, strengthen those foundations and hopefully that will filter throughout the team.
