Is this the option where we own or lease?

The club’s preferred tenure option for any future stadium is freehold, but it is open to a leasehold arrangement if it is affordable and of sufficient length to provide security. The club could not participate in any arrangement that did not give it adequate security for the future.

I'd prefer the Rugby League model. St.Helens and Warrington have decent new stadiums built in partnership with Tesco's and home-builders. Getting into bed with a local council will mean getting hugely bogged down in political correctness and trying to build a stadium that will be a catalyst for world peace, an end to all bigotry, cure fuel poverty and homelessness and be a safe space for vegans. There is nothing wrong with these aspirations but you can't realistically commercially work with these crackpot zealots on such things.
It'll be bad enough engaging with a local authority on a pure planning level..... Getting any deeper involved will be untenable.

So, we would prefer to build the stadium from QPR funds. But we are happy to have a lease arrangement if the council can fund some or all of the build costs.

Is that what the statement you entered means?

So many hoops to jump through with this site it could take years but at least we'll have the best stadium in League 2 :-)

Sounds like we want to pay for stadium and the land but if H&F won't sell the land we would be happy to rent the land only if its cheapo and long term.
