Yes, I think he's still dining off the fact that he gave Kane his debut at Spurs!Originally posted by Shepherds Mush View Post
Same problem for any manager coming in but my point really is Sherwood will probably be more willing to play the kids than others based on what i've heard him say about youth players in this country.

so if he is appointed its based on his experience and recent record as a manager......out of work for 3 years approx?Originally posted by Jeffqpr View Post
I appreciate that Lyme but he wouldn’t be appointed just because he is a mate of les & would be annoyed if that was the case, I’m sure others on the board wouldn’t let that happen, I don’t want him but life goes on & will continue up get my support.

You say that but I seem to remember when he was linked with a loan move to us he had been through several other loans and not really impressed. Don't recall people being too enthused by prospect of him in hoops. Can't remember exactly when that was but we probably had likes of Maiga (however you spell it) or someone like that at the time so didn't need him!Originally posted by Bill View Post
a player like Kane comes along once in a blue moon
if he couldnt see how good he was id be even more worried about the gillet #### coming to us

You don’t listen, I don’t really want him as manager but if it happens it happens & nothing we can do about it disregard about him being out of work for 3yearsOriginally posted by Bill View Post

surprising that aint it. there was a kid in my dad's school football team who played RB and he went on to be a pro who played in the old division 1 too. my dad said the same thing too about him, he was far from the best player at school and when scouts came to watch my dad's team play they originally came to watch one of the strikers there but ended up signing the RB instead which shocked everyone including the PE teacher lol.Originally posted by YoungR1 View PostMy father in law used to coach 'Timmy' Sherwood when he was a kid up to under 14's, always said he was a good kid good attitude but was surprised he made it as a pro as he wasn't even the best player in his team.
as for sherwood i really really don't want the bloke here but i reckon he will get in. les hasn't brought in any managers of his own according to reports and really wants sherwood to come in. i reckon les has a lot of ammo to use against the club in regards to this manager appointment and that could be the deciding factor, he wants his own man in and tbh the only appointment that he has made at the club (ramsey) has worked out really well in regards to our academy
