What purpose does South Africa Road provide?

As far as i can work out from Batman Close to the Tizzard School there are no road accesses onto or off from SAR, the road is generally used as a rat run when the A40 is clogged.

An idea could be to trunkate the road at both ends allowing access to & from Bloemfontein to the school and to & from Wood Lane to access Batman Close and move the ground out into SAR.

You may think this a mad idea but the layout of the roads around the north of the ground has changed many times.

Now this is an idea that could get council approval........councils love blocking roads off to make life a little more difficult if they can.

It's not a matter of extending though. The whole ground would have to be knocked down and a new one built. It is not so much the size of the ground but the age and the infrastructure.
