West. You have to look at those in charge as we have had quite a few that have walked at the end of their contracts and the club have recieved sod all in transfer fees.

What would we get at this point assuming 1 year left. 1.5 mil or so? He shows a lot of promise but he hasn't done much yet. Seems to have his head screwed on so hopefully will sign an extension.Comment

I know what you mean mate but Austin aside at push Smithies (think club done well there actually) who have we got shot of on cheap that fans never actually rated or wanted gone anyway

Good point he’s really only shown flashes and glimpses but we can all see the potential that’s what’s exciting watching him blossom in the hoops

Brian. Maddison 20 odd million, Lookman from league 1 was 11 million, so I would hope that we would get more than 1.5 million. Granted he has not shown anything other than huge potential and is clearly a very talented boy.Comment
-
Yeah would hope so but wouldn't be surprised with a low fee and various add-ons if sold at this point.Comment
-
Lets hope he signs and we get to see the boy blossom for us and get a decent move to a decent premier league team and we get the money to boot.Comment

West. Austin was a disgrace and all involved should hang their heads in shame. The best bit of transfer business that we have done in recent years was Sterling.Comment

Agree 100% 73 but aside from him who else has gone that people majorly rated or who club have made massive balls up on.Comment

West. We have not drawn any money on very few players. Barton 70k a week, SWP, say no more, Sandro, Green 4 years at 55k a week. The 2 best signings we made in the recent past were Austin and Smithies and both were let go cheaply. Surely with these young players we can learn from those cases.Comment

They were bad signings no disputing that I’m talking about us losing players of value for nothing through club not renewing contractsComment
-
Clive on LFW saying that the club have an option on both Eze and Smyth to extend contracts by another year. Probably why theres not been a massive rush to get it doneComment

Another year is not much at all, so there should be a rush to get those two on new 4 year deals.
As 1973 said those older players were given 4 year deals on big wages yet these promising young players get 2 year deals on a pittance. Understandable to a point as they have to prove themselves but now that to some extent they have, longer deals should be offered (but of course we don't know that they haven't) .Comment
