The rules are different now for Fulham because they're in the Premier League, but I assume they didn't have anyone left on huge Premier League contracts last season. Just for reference, if you break even on transfers, sponsorship, agents fees, etc. you can afford to lose £250k a week, so they probably spent a bit under that so they could afford bigger transfers. That said, they also got £12m for Ross McCormack a few years ago and they sold a few other more expensive players. And remember that their owner is the guy who wants to buy Wembley, so he is definitely willing to lose this amount of money.

Could be something to do with how much money is being pumped into their clubs compared to ours. Also possible that we aren't near the £39m threshold but the club are being conservative in case the FFP fine has to be repayed at least in part this season. Also bear in mind that Sandro, Onuoha and Caulker were all on around £40k per week (in Sandro's case possible 50-60), which would have set us back considerably over the last two years, and I'm sure the likes of Chery and Robinson weren't too badly payed either.

OK, so last 3 years we have got ton rid of the high earners, sold cherry 4mil, polter 3mil, bowiler 3mil, sterling money 10mil, Smithies 3.5mil plus, we recruited very little for peanuts.

How the fark can we not buy a defender for a mil and a striker for a couple of mil yet, the likes of Derby and forest can spunk bucket loads year after year.

As stated above, and also the club has enough debt from the FFP fine as it is. They wouldn't let Onuoha and Robinson go for free to cut the wage bill and then sign a player for £1m whose contract expires in 6 months.

The club has, and can spend some money, if the owners want to.

Why FFP? I thought we can still buy?

The club can only make a net loss of £39m over a 3 year period and due to the high wages some of the players were on, the club can't risk another fine by paying £1m + wages + agent fees + signing on fee for a player.

Jiangsu want £750k+ and not willing to let him go on loan as his contract expires in January. He was in England to push through a deal with either us or Villa, but he posted this on Instagram 2 hours ago, so seems as if it's off due to FFP.
