If you look at list, it was the wages that killed us or almost killed us. Maybe obvious and known to most/all but those transfer fees aren’t that bad. -
Very true mate. I really don't think we ever got our pants down on the actual transfer fees. It was the salaries, contract lengths, sign-on fees and agent fees where we messed up. We are still paying a load of installments to agents now apparently.
Seems obvious now that we were clearly getting done. The selling clubs couldn't wait to get rid of most of the overpaid rubbish that we signed during those 2 or 3 years. Of course they all came with good CV's and impressive back stories from their agents. But we were well and truly taken for mugs. An agents wet dream, and a last pay check for many an average footballer.Comment
