    The promised Land

It has been quoted on here many times about certain managers and the type of football served up.

Petes favourite word about Sousa was boring. Now Holloways football was basically, kick it down the other end, chase it and squeeze. Hardly inspiring.
Dowie just matched up all over the field and played player like for like. If there player is 6 foot 2 left back ill put my 6 foot 2 player on him.

Now with Sousa you could see what he was trying to do. A manager who used players like chess pieces. A champions league winner with such sound knowledge and understanding of the game. You only had to watch him at the training ground to see how good a FOOTBALL COACH he was.

So today Darren Ferguson had nothing but praise for Sousa and his Swansea team on their Passing possesion football. He also added thats what he wants his Preston team to play like. A man a lot of people fancied at LR.

So pete and all who keep harping on about the promised land.

If Sousa takes Swansea up playing his way would that have been alright for you and the QPR dream you keep selling us.

Football is all about good coaches with good management skills, something they quite havent figured out at HQ.

    Shame, shame, shame

If Sousa had the team that Magilton did, I'm sure we would be competing at the top.

Sousa must be having a bit of wry smile at us now, and who could blame him? Think, though, we will just stay up, and I thought we were certainties for the play-offs @ 3 months ago.

I feel physically sick every time i see swansea win. What could of been I always think. Good luck to Paulo and I hope he is successful throughout his managerial career, a gem let slip without a doubt

A good FOOTBALL coach, a decent eloquent man who had his own mind.

Well thats not what we want for the master plan is it.

Up to the time we played Middlesborough we were the best side in this division playing attractive football.

We can all compare people when they go to other teams

Sousa agreed doing well at Swansea, but why didn't he press on with us at QPR when one point off? What exactly was he building, when he was one poinf off.

hall, Ageymang, Helgusson and Sousa are doing well since they left, but would you have the first 3 back?/

                    Ok lets talk football,

I was at the Swansea away game, sitting not far from you actually Pete and your 15 yr old mates who seemed more intrested in the Swansea fans to your left then what was actually going on on the pitch. Sorry I digress.

We were the better team for long periods. Probably confident due to the Newcastle draw but tending towards arrogant at times. Swansea were no great shakes but players knew what there roles and responsabiliites were. They played as a functional unit and were a team. You could see they werent very creative going forward but could see solid foundations being laid.

Something was being built and Sousas thinking was written all over the team. Now a few months later they are being praised by Alex Fergusons son, both advocates of passing and possesion football.

I agree players are important but sometimes in football it goes a lot deeper then that.

It has to its a team game.

You really are in a losing battle and have been ever since your message board helped orchestrate his departure, so give up, it's boring and so are you.

You said his football was and I quote 'Boring'. I like to think maybe it was misinterpreted.

Sousa wanted his own LB in and guess who didnt like it.

Again his run up to his dismissal was not great in the points department as is often quoted on here.

He was building but alas as in the whole sorry state, his face just didnt fit

Sorry Jimmy but I couldn't bear to watch the boring football under Sousa. Given a few seasons he may well have got Rangers promoted. Who knows? Given time, Dowie and Magilton could've got us up too.

Under Sousa, we were so negative and unattractive to watch. How many goal less draws were there? Yes we had a great defensive record, but what of our attacking prowess? I go to football to be entertained. If I supported Arsenal, I'd have hated to watch George Graham's succesful sides winning the way they did week in, week out. And yes, I am aware they won alot of silverware playing that way.

Football under Sousa was hard to watch. One up front at home just doesn't do it for me. That's my honest opinion.
