Lower leagues

Since we are not going to spend much money on proven players, why not take a gamble on some players from the lower leagues?

IMO we should try and get some of the following:

Alex smithies (huddersfield keeper)
Rickie lambert (southampton)
Lee barnard (southend)
Robert Snodgrass (leeds)
Jermaine beckford (leeds)
Jordan Rhodes (huddersfield)
Jonjo shelvey (charlton)
nicky bailey (charlton)
Grant holt (norwich)

at least 5 of them would cost a million and beckford now even if he would come to us, would cost at least 3 mill now after his last couple of cup games.

Lee barnard went to southampton for 300k, could be not even get that for a striker (charlie austin?) :(

Hardly lower leagues. Some of the above would cost between 2 and 3 million. We won't even spend 500k

Also according to Nodge Beckford has signed a pre-contract with Everton.

i think he has been debated about before....and were quite a few heated replies...so don't think he would be welcome.

What about non-league.

Some very good talent about there.. Beckford.. McLean.. and Hooper
are a few who come to mind.
