Got to agree with No to bringing back Di Canio, severely lacking tactically which is why we conceded so many late goals. Didn't know how to close out games.

Great going forward but lacked any discipline at the back,

I've said before that I would love to think he could come back and re-introduce the style of attacking football we watched last season - but there are 3 very big buts for me
1 - Has he vastly improved his English
2 - We would need to retain Harbin as the players fitness levels appeared to be an issue under LDC
3 - We would have to have a very prominent defensive coach (Tony Adams anyone?) as clearly whilst De Canio's team produced some lovely football, they couldn't defend for toffee. Mind you, he didn't have Cerny or Gorkss.

The stats are about even but the point I am trying to make out is that there isn't much difference. Some hold LDC up to be a Managerial God which he isn't. He made tactical mistakes, he played players out of position and we let late goals in. If he came back I would be delighted because the football we played under him was fabulous to watch but I don't think we would storm the league like others believe we would.

We got a better set of players since Gigi was last here so i could
see us scoring for fun next season with players like Cookie and Routledge on
the wings, hopefully Lopez stays because hes good at set pieces and probs a striker will come in the summer who can take his chances.

Im quite optimistic if Gigi comes back next season :bad_smile:
