    Beckfords agent

I happen to know Beckfords agent Nick Ruberry and he has said that Newcastle is looking favourite for his signature in Jan.

I don't know anyone to do with Beckford, but I could have told you that months ago.
    Your mum would love me...

Apparently Nick and Gianni aren't on great terms.

QPR definatly wanted to sign him but i think his wage demands were a stumbling block.

Beckford's destination was always going to be Newcastle, if he left Leeds, as he was Shearer's No 1 target. Says it all really that someone who knows what it takes to score goals rates him so highly and so many on here don't.

                Only time will tell, Paul.

Personally I think he'll be awesome for them and show our fans what they're missing.

Missed opportunity, but one I was resigned to a long time ago. Gianni has been exceptionally savvy with picking up quality loans and cheap buys but the centre forward position was the one where he was going to have to break the bank to get the right player - and that was never going to happen.

Id rather have Hooper any way, and he seems to not think he is a big time charlie either!!! well grounded!

Was keen on Hooper but as someone pointed out he hasn't scored a goal in open play for a couple of months now. We fans simply don't see enough of a team like S****horpe to make an informed decision. Guess we just have to trust the club and hope they do the business.

I doesn't seem to stop people from making the decision over Beckford though

Leeds have been on TV so many times, S****horpe alas have not. Also, video clips, newspaper reports, radio reports, sky soccer saturday, fans forums etc, provide enough information if you want it, to make an opinion on a player.

Well that's a fair point but for someone like me that watches Rangers home and away every week, I have to say the view/impression you get of watching on the TV is totally different to being sat in the stands.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with a "I go to games so I know more than you" mentality before someone says it is by the way - I notice a lot more at home games sitting at the front middle of the Upper Loft for example than I do at pitch level along the side at Palace because you can see the whole pitch clearly and every players movement/attitude and work rate..........but to me the best example I can think of is watching both Derby away and Leicester at home on the TV the day after having sky + them - you don't see a lot of the movement and off the ball work of the teams and do get dragged into the commentators analysis too.

It's also been said many times on internet forums that U Tube clips can make even the most ordinary player a world beater!!

That's my opinion and having never actually seen Beckford in the flesh I can't say whether he would improve the team - some say he is a lazy player who will do nothing for 89 minutes and pop up with a goal - do we want that? I'm not sure and it's a whole different debate.
