Welbeck has done well and scored goals, Macheda got his goal against villa last season amd has done well, Tuff choice...

But,

I think id go Macheda, bigger and looks stronger on the ball, we already have alot of pace in simpson, imo Macheda would compliment Simpson more.

Macheda is exactly the sort of forward that we need. Big, strong, technically good and also knows where the goal is. As others have said Welbeck is too like Simpson.

Exactly why I'd sooner have Macheda. I said this when we were recently linked with Welbeck. Very good player but too similar to Simpson. Now we have Jay up top, we need a striker who'll bring a different dimension to our game which is why Macheda is the better option. As said, he's a big strong lad. Still not as ideal as Rob Hulse, Marlon Harewood or John Stead for instance who are proven goal scorers at this level as well as an experienced target man, but a better option than Welbeck nevertheless.
