went down to collect my nephew this afternoon from soccer school in wembley and to my surprise was shocked to see 5 first team players there doing a questions and answers session with the youngsters .
after many years of taking my own kids to these soccer schools and having a fringe player turn up for 5 mins if you was lucky, was very surprised to see they had cerny/simpson/hall/agyemang/tarrabt
and at the end when they could of just left they offered to challenge the 15 or so kids to a game. you could see even the community coaches were very surprised by this and went about trying to calm these incredably excited youngster down and warning them not to go silly (all we need is simpson taken out by a 10 yr old). they played for approx 10 mins and the kids were on cloud 9 and eccstatic at playing with there heroes (even the kids in chelski shirts seem to be enjoying theselves) the shouting screeming and laughing was a complete joy to watch and the noise from the kids wasnt far behind either cerny diving around in the mud and tarrabt doing evey trick and skill in the book at one point he had 10 kids trying to get the ball off him completley surrounded he flicked the ball over his head and over theres and then ran through them caught it on his left foot a ran off with the kids in tow.
what i witnessed today was a joy to watch and despite all the politics and the dark times our club has enjured over the years today made me feel very proud once again to support this great club of ours. the players then said there goodbyes to the kids and even waving to the parents on there way out. one thing is for sure is we are not the only ones on a high at the moment these players were a credit to our club and themselves christ i had better stop im filling up
