Sent to Brighton Hove Albion, because the manager didn't like him. Forced to train on his own whilst at QPR, the kid has shown great character to pull it AROUND.

... and despite the facts that "The kid" was treated poorly last season, and that he can pass the ball around quite well..... Sousa is certainly not alone in that opinion.
Even allowing for how well the team are doing right now.

Clearly very mixed opinions of the blokes ability to defend.
And really not much more to be said about him, that hasn't been said already.

                  Don't hold your breath!

Just seems odd to have another pop at the bloke, and yet choose the one thing that he was undoubtably very good at as the latest target..... Sousa's defensive abilities/record.

If he'd chosen the style of football and/or goals scored as the current stick to beat him with - you could half understand the obsession.

He doesn't appear to be your average left back, more someone who can't quite make it in midfield.

His passing and shooting is better than most left backs, but after that it goes downhill very quickly.

I hate to criticise the lad, but I feel he is our weakest link, hopefully he will improve with games.

while we are winning, it may not be that most vital of positions, but that might change as the season wears on.

Anyway, let's hope he become the next Ian Gillard / Clive Wilson, but realistically I think the manager will replace him.

I find it hilarious the criticism of Borrowdale. He is an average championship defender in pure defensive terms, not bad at all, not briliant. BUT, and a massive BUT, he is a superb passer, understands exactly where to pass it and sets up so many attacks. For our style of play that is extremely important and underlines why Sousa hated him and Magilton has picked him every match and not sweated blood to get another left back in.

Whoever said our main concern is letting in goals earlier in this thread, you obviously don't look at the league table do you, and the goals against column. If he was that bad, we'd have definitely let in more goals, teams we play know where the weaknesses are.

the sousa reference wasnt a massive pop at him. i've said all along that he's inherited a cack side at swansea. He was just wrong about Borrowdale - to level things up just as Magilton was/is wrong at prefering Hall over other defenders earlier in the season
