Below is a list of the Championship's top scorers (nice to see a few Rangers players on there for a change).

Pete has told us that we hope to bring in 3/4 players and has steered us away from thinking about either Premiership or lower league players. Assuming two of these acquistions will be strikers as that is our weakest position, which two below would you REALISTICALLY buy (by that I assume that the millions required to land Chopra and Johnson put them out of reach, as well as players such as Kevin Nolan who are midfielders).

    Pos. Player Goals Team
1 Michael Chopra 12 Cardiff City
    2 Adam Johnson 7 Middlesbrough
    2 Danny Graham 7 Watford
2 Matty Fryatt 7 Leicester City

2 Peter Whittingham 7 Cardiff City

    11 Grant McCann 5 S****horpe United
11 Jay Simpson 5 Queens Park Rangers
11 Jon Parkin 5 Preston North End
11 Marcus Tudgay 5 Sheffield Wednesday

I would argue that players like Maynard, Fryatt, Hooper, McLean and Best are all at clubs who won't be fighting for promotion come May and therefore a both to a 'bigger' club would tempt them into signing for us.

It is good to see Hoops players on this list.

Adam Johnson is an outstanding prospect at Boro it wont be long before a Premier League club come in for him.

Chopras the stand out forward in this list with 12 goals but the two lads from Coventry would both be decent additions.

Ameobi is out injured at the moment but I can see him scoring a few for the Geordies when he is back.

We still need a forward as a priority.

As would Aaron McClean, and quite a few others on there.

Apart from the bloke at the bottom. (winky)

milk turn quicker? Oh u mean Blackstock
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

No I meant Fallon as thats what the post was about.

Blackstocks not doing to bad at the moment lets see how many goals he has scored at the end of the season.

I promise I'll have no problem reminding you at the end of the year how wrong you were about the lad.

Ive a feeling we wont get Simpson on a permanent deal unless we go up, Morrison would be good a real old time sniffer in front of goal. Most rate Hooper , not seen enough of him so can't say , but would be happy with those two and what we got.
