During our time in thr Premier we signed several established players in trying to stay there. Did ever someone kept record of players we released after relegation and what happened to them? Zamora, played one other season and retired.
Dunne.. .retired.
Cisse, played another season and then retired.
Johnson...retired.
The Islandic guy....retired. (forget his name!)
Henry...do not know what he is up to.
I am sure most of you will come up with more names, which shows how we burnt out the money for has beens.
At least now we have players that can only increase their value and if sold, will leave the club stronger financially.

do you mean players who joined us when we were in the prem and then released directly after relegation or just after relegation? of your list...

dunne was bought in directly after relegation and retired after his release
cisse was released after relegation, but had been out on loan before that (red chap didn't fancy him) btw, he played for another 2 seasons after leaving us
andy johnson went to palace for 3 months (only one appearance), then retired
helgusson joined us in 2009, a couple of seasons before we went up. hughes froze him out while we were still in the prem and he went to cardiff where he made 38 appearances in their promotion season.
henry joined us directly after relegation and signed various contract extensions after relegation before being released. he signed for bolton a couple of weeks ago.

That's the one. But can recall a long list of other players that either retired or ended in oblivion. The likes of DJ Campbell, Dyer, Ben Haim, Nelson, Hulse, Krancjar, Chevanton, Jenas, Benayoun and Bothroyd. Jesus....no wonder we ended in such a financial mess!
