no joke but it was probably les ferdinand unless we had anyone else in the england squad after he was sold? austin and green were called up to england when we got relegated from the prem but didn't play. don't think townsend ever got a call up with us

Bloody hell..... I'm old enough to remember when we had a few players in every squad and at least one starting - How times have changed eh?! Heard Hoddle saying on commentary thd other day how players had to be playing regularly in premier league to get picked. What a load of tosh, Smithies is far better than Hart and Forster plus I'm not convinced by Pickford now he's at EFC.
