Yes, but with Caulker on 30k+ going to L Moscow that would have been no extra cost but quite probably a lot more goals scored and points won for QPR.

It was reported recently that our new wage structure is £20k per week max.

Maybe now that we've revamped the squad and drastically cut the wage bill, that will rise to say £25/30k a week for next season. I think that would then help us attract the bit of quality we need to push on.

No point in throwing that money at McCormack for 6 months when this season is effectively over with consolidation the likely outcome.

McCormack will be available in the summer for half the price Villa paid or maybe a season long loan if Ollie wants him. The same will be said for the others and having that extra movement in the wage structure for the right players will be a good option to have whilst not getting silly again or creating a bad atmosphere.

We've got the foundations of a good squad now and the summer should be settled in terms of incoming players and bringing in that bit of quality to supplement the solid squad we have in place.

It's certainly the most positive time at our club in a long long time and we're doing it properly.

What could possibly go wrong? I agree with what you're saying, the squad needs to gel quickly though or we'll be in a relegation scrap with a bunch of new players!
