The kind of thing that worries me about Jimmy is this.
Against Newcastle we sat far too deep. This allowed a CMF (Shelvey) complete freedom to control the game, unchallenged. At the same time it allowed late arriving MFs to wander forward completely unmarked. In that game we also ended up too narrow at the back, so overlaps or inside cuts from out wide weren't picked up. Since then life has got harder for Newcastle, because they aren't playing us every week. But the point is...
Exactly the same thing happened vs Fulham until Scott P went off. The difference was they were not good enough to benefit from this considerable advantage.
At Burton he wasn't up against players of real quality, I know Scotty Parker and Shelvey are not world class, but JFH made them look pretty decent. A lot of this comes from sitting to deep, which in turn links into the Henry debate, but apparently Jimmy knows best. However, this kind of thing is why some people wonder if he's up to the job. Lightening did strike twice, but we got away with it at Fulham.Comment

We actually played a very high line against Fulham... but anything to make a point I guess. Even our midfield pushed up and Henry only dropped back when Caulker or one of the full backs went forward...The kind of thing that worries me about Jimmy is this.

Better movement in possession moving forward but look at what happened when we lost the ball. I could watch the FFC game back and quote you at leas half a dozen instances where we were too deep. Thats how come they were able to get through without being opposed. The evidence is there. And it was there vs NUFC. The manager failed to address the problem.Comment
