By my reckoning they have signed 9 or 10 this summer. I know they've lost 2 central defenders in Taylor & Collecini (spelling) & sold Wjynaldem (spelling) to Liverpool. How many others have they lost? If none they must have a massive squad probably on prem wages. I believe the bulk of their squad has French origins, will be interesting to see if they're up for it against the fools Friday eve and how Benitez keeps a huge playing squad happy

They've lost Townsend and Papiss cisse too. Most the frenchies have/are being fazed out and they will have a british core (hanley and ciaran clark CB, shelvey, colback, ritchie and Gayle. sure there are more) This squad should walk the championship but stranger things have happened

Looks like Sissoko will be on his way as well, as for some reason he is loved. Will probably get the 25 million - 30 plus the two madrid loan players. Diame really must enjoy playing in the championship though. Strange move, I know his clause was met but he doesnt have to leave.

They have sold Winaldjum Townsend for more than that and Tiote and CisTiohave also left.
They are still in surplus and with Sissoko about to be sold will have more to spend.
Throw in the parachute payments and they are doing fine.

New GK, RB and Hayden from Arsenal. Looks like Diame will be in next.
On paper a strong squad for this level, but how quickly they gel will be the most important thing.

Let's be honest they're a different level to anyone else in the Championship/. And Rafa has to be the most decorated manager this league's seen..

I posted that stat on another thread!! The. Checked it agin on sky and they have actually spent 42 million! Mental money for the championship!

Was surprised though to see that we were the 4th biggest spending team this season in the league.

On paper they have the strongest squad and should easily finish 1st but on massive wages, perhaps their players turn into mercenaries. All depends on how Benitez manage them.
