Exactly. He's never had a run of games in the side since he joined the club - always been in and out. He needs that to get his confidence up IMO.

It's true that you can't judge a striker on substitute appearances and the occasional start. What I would also say is that a striker has gotta take his chances to impress when he does get on. At least give the manager something to think about. This is what Poulter did, got a few sub appearances, made a nuisance of himself, got on the scoresheet and won the fans over.

Maybe Conor Washington is a better player than what we've see so far, I certainly hope he is otherwise we have literally burned 3m quid. But he needs to do more for me, needs to get in the goals and earn himself a starting place!

This is exactly it. We all want him to succeed, but I don't think he's earned a regular starting spot. He needs to start scoring in his sub appearances or occasional starts. Until then, for the moment, he's behind Polter and at the same level as JET.

Was going to say dont think hes played in his favoured position hardly,he just needs abit of luck to get his first goal,be it luck or not,but i reckon hes a good little player,& his confidence will grow alot once he gets that first goal

I agree. He just needs to break his duck, then we might find we have a decent striker. He's done it for NI, he can do it for us. He's at his best with a strike partner though - that's how he scored his goals for NI and Posh.

Was just about to say id be that confident in him,i reckon he`ll be our top scorer come the end of the season, but if jimmy keeps sticking with this one up top rubbish, not so sure then,we need to stop following others and the trend and play with two up top,we`ve had too long of this rubbish and doesnt look like we`ve improved playing this way at all!

Polter is our best option as things stand. He is a very useful player at this level IMO and he links up well with Chery. We certainly need another striker though.

Washington needs service from the wings and throughballs from a creative midfield, IMO.

A match is only 90 mins. Its what the boss sees day in day out on the training pitch that counts.

What puzzles me is your normally the most positive person on here to a fault, talking up even some of the dross we've had to witness but it's obvious from your many posts about him that for some reason you have a big downer on Washington.

I dunno, if Plan A is just 'cross it to Polter' we are in trouble. I doubt he will score more than 10 headed goals this season.

Washington is a wright off imo.
